Description
Paintings by members of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society and miniature polymer clay sculptures by a West Bend artist comprise two diverse, new exhibitions at the Cedarburg Art Museum that begin March 22.
From realism to abstraction, finely detailed to broad stroke, 40 artists from around the state interpret the theme of "Awakenings" in 62 watercolor paintings for the Wisconsin Watercolor Society's biannual exhibition.
The "Miniature World of Doug Witz" is the premiere showing of numerous miniature polymer clay environments created by Doug Witz. For many years, Witz has submitted an oven-baked and hand-painted whimsical scene of everyday life in an 11-inch cubical, acrylic enclosure to the annual member exhibition at the Museum of Wisconsin Art. The Cedarburg Art Museum exhibition is the first time that 18 sculptural environments of Witz have been assembled together for an impressive showing of the artists's miniature creations.
The public is invited to the March 25 opening reception of Wisconsin Watercolor Society’s Awakenings and The Miniature World of Doug Witz.
