• Beer Garden Manager

    Reports to Assistant Director
    Part-time, temporary June through September 2021

    The Beer Garden Manager will bring a collaborative and optimistic energy to the Cedarburg Art Museum. The position requires high service industry standards, independent initiative and effective communication skills.

    Responsibilities include:

    Beer Garden Operations

    • Management of day-to-day operations of the museum beer garden

    • Communicate with assistant director about beer garden operations and issues as they arise

    • Foster relationship with Beer Garden Sponsor – Lakefront Brewery

    • Foster relationships with Evening Beer Garden sponsors

    • Ensure the Museum’s compliance with all applicable laws and permits

    • Place orders with distributors weekly, supplies providers, and grocery shop for other supplies as

      needed (ice, fruit for garnishes, NA beverages, cleaning supplies, etc.)

    • Order CO2 and schedule beer line cleaning periodically

    • Work with staff to control expenses and maximize revenues while limiting risk due to

      uncontrollable circumstances like weather

    • Help musicians and food vendors with set-up and logistics

    • Ensure that the beer garden and sculpture garden are kept clean and sanitary

    • Share responsibility for recycling and waste with all staff with aim towards “low/zero waste”

      Volunteer Coordination

    • Create a fun and efficient work environment for museum volunteers

    • Communicate volunteer needs for Beer Garden to assistant director

    • With aid from staff and Lakefront Brewery, conduct Beer Garden Volunteer Orientation in June

    • With the help of volunteers, set up and take down beer garden for festivals and events

    • Train new and returning volunteers in various volunteer roles

    • Consulting with staff, create plans to improve current operating procedures

      Position Requirements

    • Must be 21 years of age and either a Licensed Bartender or able to complete training for bartending license within 14 days of employment

    • Customer service experience, food & beverage industry experience preferred

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds comfortably

    • Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for meeting new people and welcoming visitors

    • Ability to manage conflict

      Required Availability

    • Thursdays from 4:30 to 9:30pm; Saturdays from 10am to 5pm; weekends of Cedarburg Strawberry Festival (June 26 & 27) and Wine & Harvest Festival (September 18 & 19) and other times as needed.

    • Must place orders with distributers Monday mornings.

    $13-15 per hour, 13-20 hours per week with additional hours as required
